2000 ping pong balls in zero gravity.
I absolutely love that they didn't warn anyone.

Daleks. For Kids
With 10 phrases available, such as "Exterminate" and "Seek, locate, annihilate" what parent wouldn't want to give this Doctor Who toy to a child that is at most 66 pounds? And why don't they make any of the fun toys for adults??

$76,500 Platinum Datsun Fairlady Z 432

40th anniversary edition Fairlady Z 432 created out of pure platinum, costing $76K+. Ad not for sale.
To be fair, it is a Z. Personally, I am happy with my blue 240Z, but hey, if I had the money to throw around to make completely random things, a Datsun is always a good place to start.

Video Barbie - Things I Want # 12130
I totally want this doll, and if it was up for pre-order on Amazon, it would be on my list.Yes, I know it is kinda retarded. Yes, I know I am 28 years old. But, really, how awesome would it be to walk around with a Barbie in hand to too many unlikely places and take photos?
I also want a Spirograph. Maybe I'm just rebelling against adulthood.

Saddest Invention Ever

Solo-Operable Seesaw
patent#: US 6872145
The pictorial definition of the word "loner".
Why is an invention like this necessary? The inventor claims that demand is on the rise due to declining birth rates. (Hey, only-child, ever hear of a pogo stick?) But the real inspiration came from the schoolyard bully:
"a seesaw plank can be a dangerous object in the hands of a mischievous child who may abruptly pull down on one end when another child is passing by the opposite end, causing the opposite end to rise quickly and potentially striking the passing child."
I never thought I'd see 8-year old bullying tactics so accurately described in a government document. It's like Abu Ghraib, kiddy style:
"because the seesaw operates on the principle of counterbalancing weights, injury can result if a rider suddenly falls or jumps off the seesaw while the opposing rider is high in the air, particularly if one rider is substantially heavier than the other. In this scenario, the opposing rider is sent crashing to the ground and the sudden impact may jar a child's joints or cause spine or tailbone injuries."
Too bad Fatty, your superior weight and clever use of gravity has been stripped from your arsenal.

Classy
BARBIE has a new Ken - and he comes complete with a touch of Florida flair and a name you aren't likely to forget.Sugar Daddy Ken is the latest incarnation of Barbie's long-time boyfriend.
And before anyone thinks the "Sugar Daddy" title refers to an older man with a younger lover, Mattel says that there's a much more innocent explanation.
"The little dog's name is actually Sugar," said the Mattel spokeswoman. "That's where the name comes from. He's Sugar's daddy, as a reference to the dog."

Things I Want for Nostalgia
When I was a kid, my sisters and I liked to dress up and put on plays for my parents. Inevitably, my middle sister Ali was the princess, my oldest sister Ja' was both the villain and the prince, and I, being the youngest, was left with all the extra parts. This includes all 7 dwarves at one time, But this is back when the world was magical, wearing tutu's on our heads was acceptable, and there was no better way to ride off into the sunset (or the dining room) than on a broomstick with a horse's head on the front.Of all the toys we ever had, I'll remember Barbie dolls. Not as some stupid idea that made my anorexic or have unrealistic expectations, but more there was a pretty doll to play with. Ja' and I would spend hours creating stories and plots for these dolls, including ones where their legs would just 'give out' and they were crippled, just for the dolls which we accidentally snapped off the legs and had to use rubberbands to hold together.
But Ali always had the best Barbie dolls. Hers were immaculate, gorgeous. The were to be groomed, not to be played with. It was a rare day when Ali's dolls were undressed from their original outfits, and she would meticulously brush their hair with the tiny brushes. When it came time to actually play with them, she was done and Ja' and I were left to our devices.
And Peaches 'n Cream Barbie was always one of my favorite. I am pretty sure she was originally Ja"s doll, but only b/c I remember the ending of this doll. The bustier shiny top separated from the boring white under-piece, the bottom frayed and tore as we used it on all the dolls. Pretty sure we used the stole around out own necks or around other dolls. I also presume this was Ja"s doll due to age and wear. Ali did not allow me to detroy dolls until she was done with them, and I remember this doll being pretty well destroyed prior to Ali outgrowing dolls.
Either way, out of remembrance, I want one.

Setting a Good Example

Pole dancing doll. I can only imagine this was thought to be a good idea by someone from Japan.
I wonder how many times my sister would hit me if I got this for the Rufusi?

The Enchanted Doll
I love how delicate these porcelain dolls appear. I cannot imagine the time and patience to make something like this. If my hands didn't shake all the time like I have mild MS, I would love to work on something like this. But alas, this goes into the category of thing I would be better off not trying, along with diffusing bombs or performing neurosugery.

Rocking Horse: Updated!
Felix Götze designed this rocking horse out of few bits and pieces of old German motorbikes. This really makes more sense than a horse if you think about it, seeing as how more kids will grow up to ride motorcycles than horses.

Yoga Beans!Action figures doing yoga, with little dialoges of what transpired between the different figures. Not very many overall, and kinda lame sometimes, but I like dolls and action figures.

Flickr brings back memories

Sears Wishbook 1982
This seriously seems to contain every single toy I remember having as a kid. Every. single. one. Including the Bozo ventriloquist doll that at age 4 gave me nightmares for a month after watching Poltergeist. One of my favorites as a small kid though was the farm set above. I would play with it for hours....
